Ryan Hebert, the moderator, asked relevant questions to each party pertaining to current affairs especially the frequently discussed economic crisis as well as the United States involvement in foreign affairs. For each topic, one party was allowed to answer first, then the second refuted. After both opinions were given, the teams were given a few minutes to contest the other party's opinion. The debaters went back and forth focusing not only on what their party's representative thought but also their own opinions. They were able to add interesting facts and data to support their responses that engaged the audience. At the end of the debate, the floor was opened to the audience to pose questions to each party giving those in attendance another chance to learn more about each candidate and party before the election was held. All in all, the debate was a great learning experience for both the debaters and for the audience!
